6 Step Pizza Puffs Recipe!
When you are making dinner for your family, you want it to be anything but a long hard process. I know making a whole pizza for everyone in your family can be lots of things: 1- Messy 2- Pricey 3- Not filling enough
I have a family of 3 and it’s never enough. It’s always much more work that it is worth. We all love to have pizza but if you order out, it gets very expensive! Making it at home is a lot cheaper, but, it can me a hassle and super messy. You don’t have to go through all of that trouble just to get some pizza! This recipe is very easily altered and you can make as many as you would like! The kids can even help make it and you know it’s going to be fun for them. Make it a family thing! These are so good, I make them at least once a week for my family and my 2 year old helps me.
What you will need:
Cookie sheet(s) depending on how many you want to make
1 can Grands! Golden Layers Butter Biscuits (10 biscuits per can)
Pepperoni slices (Here is a coupon for you!)
Butter Cooking Spray
Garlic Powder (to taste)
First thing you want to do is preheat your oven to 425. Spread the biscuit dough out as far as you can without making it super thin. You don’t want it to rip or tear because the cheese will ooze out!
Next, you want to put in your cheese and toppings of your choice. If you would like, you can add pizza sauce on your dough first but I found that I just like to dip it better. You can use any sort of toppings that you want, just make sure that they fit inside of the ball when you close it up. I have made the pizza puffs with pepperoni, mini sausages, mushrooms, cheese only and veggies.
After you have added your ingredients into your dough, then you want to add your cheese. Don’t add too much or you won’t be able to fold your dough over on top without having cheese everywhere when they bake.
You’re almost done! Now, you just want to take the sides of your dough and fold them over the top to cover your toppings like this… I have tried just closing the 4 sides over on each other and rolling it up like a burrito and both work, just make sure you have everything inside of the dough and that it’s “pinched” closed on the top so nothing leaks out and burns during the baking process.
After you have closed the dough over the toppings, flip the ball upside down to where the part that you just closed is laying on your cookie sheet. Now, you can take anything that will make the seasoning stick to the top and brush it on. You could use a beaten egg, butter, more cooking spray, really anything you would like. Take your garlic powder, Italian seasoning and parmesan cheese and sprinkle some on the top of each puff to give it some seasoning.
6th and Final Step:
They are all seasoned and ready to go into your oven! You want to bake them for about 10 minutes on each side, checking on them periodically. Remember, oven temperature may very so keep an eye on them so that they don’t burn!
Serve them with a dipping sauce and you are ready to go. Let me know if you try them and how you enjoyed them!
